M'ella
A species closely linked to nature, the M'ella had a primitive stone-age druidistic society at the time of the merging, taking from nature only what they needed when they needed it. Living in close-knit tribes, the M'ella existed in general peace, and only really used weapons for hunting. That quite drasticly changed after the merge, as the drastic changes in geography altered the ecosystem in many locations, and the addition of new flora, fauna as well as sentient species greatly changed the world. The first real contact the M'ella had with the new arrivals on their world was with the centaurs, and that encounter was all but peaceful. The centaurs, using their knowledge of metalworking to its' full advantage, raided, raped, pillaged, plundered and enslaved whomever happened to get in their way. And with the technological disadvantage of the M'ella, they had to rely on their magic to survive these first encounters. Later, when encountering the babylonians, the M'ella found a far less agressive new neighbor who traded knowledge for knowledge with the M'ella. In exchange for the magic of the M'ella, the babylonians taught them to construct and use firearms.
Ktarr
A large, slow-mannered and calm people. The Ktarr are essentially enteties crafted out of solid rock, standing at a imposing height of three meters. The Ktarr are, to other mortal species, slow and methodical in all things they do. And others are to Ktarr far too quick and hurried for their liking. The Ktarr generally tend to isolate themselves within elaborately crafted mountain-side recidenses where they can be left in peace.
Before the shift, the M'ella viewed the Ktarr as earth-spirits and left them at a respectful distance, just like the Ktarr wished. But after the shift, many of the new races did not grant them the same respect.
The foremost of the "pests" that haunt the Ktarr in this new world are the Goblins. Another race that seems drawn to the mountains that Ktarr inhabit, this diminutive race is of little consern to the Ktarr in small numbers, but the sheer volume of Goblins prove to be a great foe for even the great Ktarr.
