The new setting: introductions

So!
With the conclusion of my campaign, I will begin to write down details on the new, changed setting.
To begin with, What happened?
A character, Kenza, kick-started the end of the world by calling The Destroyer to the world, which essentially meant the time the world had left was now measurable in hours.
As the characters Wormbait and Theran were about to leave the world together with the NPC Belial they were approached by the Demigod Jester that offered them an alternative solution.
With this the players moved their own world into another universe, merging their plain of existance with that of the "new" universe.

What does this mean for the setting?
Well, first and foremost, this means a lot of landmass was added to the world map, as well as new seas and many such things. It also means the rules for using magic, and what types of magic exists have changed. Additionally, new races are added to the setting.

So, what will the world be like?
Well, first and foremost we will pull the story forwards around 200 years after the merging, and thus technological advancement will have taken a leap forwards. To example, firearms will be widely spread, and the general tone of technological advancement will be magic-inspired steampunk. To those unfamiliar with this term, that means that things such as Blimps, Gatling guns, trains, etc. will exist in the universe. Essentially, it's victorian-era science fiction.

What has happened since the shift?
First things first, magic as it existed previously ceased to exist, which among other things removed next unto all known cures, leading to an age of rampant disease and civil unrest all around the old world. This lead to the Babylonians pretty much ceasing all communications with the rest of the world, isolating themselves in order to deal with their own problems. This also lead to the construction of The Great Wall Of Babylon, a massive 20-meter tall wall surrounding a enormous piece of land around the city of babylon. Beyond that, the Tyvians, using the non-interference of the Babylonians to their advantage continued to conquer all northern territories, with the exception of Jokkafar, that proved far too resilient for conquest.

Okay, so that was the old world, so what about the new world?
Well, the new world was, even before merging with the old world, a much larger world. The world had two sentient species living on it, the feral cat-people called M'ella, and the stone giants known as Ktarr. When the worlds merged, the geography changed drasticly, making what was previously a coast into a part of the heartlands of the world's now one large continent, and made what was in the past lush swamps into dry deserts, etc. As a consequence of this, many M'ella died from starvation as old food sources ceased to exist, and new ones were hard to adapt to.
Further than that, the introduction of new apex predators changed the looks of the native fauna significantly.
Worse yet was the introduction of the savage centaurs. With hundreds of thousands of miles of new land to roam, and plenty of food to eat the centaur tribes boomed in population. Soon, they began raiding the M'ella settlements, murdering, plundering, raping, taking slaves and pillaging for the fun of it.
Since the centaurs had a technological superiority, due to their existing ability for metalworking, the M'ella were forced to rely on their magical abilities to stand a chance. This was until contact between the M'ella and the humans was established, and the M'ella traided their knowledge of the workings of magic for firearms, giving them a fighting chance against the centaurs.

Next post will be dealing with magic, and the origins of it and a few things like that
